captured moment

9 comments:
Oh, how I love this picture--I've had it just waiting for the right papers to come along.  And they FINALLY did in the story kit from Scrapbook Circle.

Funny thing about this picture it was TOTALLY spontaneous.  My kids were driving me CRAZY, it was hot and we went to the park to watch my nephew play flag football.  Anyway, I had, had enough of the fighting so I told them to RUN!  They started to run, and I turned and took this picture--carefree and full out!  So much so my youngest lost his shoe.  The only problem with this picture?  The large drain--that was holding me back from scrapping it as well.  So I decided to use the studio calico paper and cover it up.  I had a GREAT time layering up and playing.
A fun creative thing I did was to cut the papers and add them to a different colored cardstock underneath--wanna see?
I saved a bit of paper that I will use on another layout-no the square isn't straight but I'm okay with that because I covered it with my picture.
I have a few closeups:
yes, I cut the title with my cameo--so totally fun!  this was my first layout using a large photo--I had a great time-I would SO totally do it again!
Thanks so much for the visit today--hope that you have a GREAT day!

what's up?

8 comments:
what's up in your world?!  Today has been a strange weather day, over cast and raining and now the sun has totally burned the clouds away and getting warmer.  These pictures CRACK me up!  I asked these kids to jump and so they did:

 closeups of course:
I designed the title and cut it with my cameo, I also cut the border, arrow, and zig zag background.  I backed the green zig zag with a piece of Amy tangerine paper--I loved layering up all of these papers and stuff.  I even used some acrylic paint on the banners with the hearts--FUN!
This is my last layout from the sold out Daydreamer kit from Scrapbook Circle kit--LOVED stretching myself a little.
Thanks for the visit today!  I'm off to help at track practice--sort of excited about it too! :)
Have a GREAT day!

Project Life March 25-31

4 comments:
yes, this is a little behind but I am actually ALL caught up with Project life--Yipee!  Life has been a "little" hectic with sports and stuff...
I wanted to share a little tip with you.  I bought a core kit and love it--don't always use it but when I do I find that they make great frames for my instagram pictures or for my other pictures I want to write on the back:
the cards are actually bigger than the pictures that I've taken so one can tell whether or not there is journaling on the back.

The weather has REALLY started to heat up here--right now it's 90+ degrees.  My girl has a track meet today the hottest one yet.  And it's the last actually scheduled one, the finals are on Saturday in the morning EARLY should hopefully be over by noon.  Anyway, I'm bringing my extra umbrella since there is NO shade for the kids to sit in, hope she isn't to "cool" to use it! :)  We had our AC units checked today and even though they're old they're running strong!

Well, I'm off to make sure I have snacks for the track watchers and my battery is all charged up with my camera! :)

Easter Egg Hunt

6 comments:

The other day this layout was featured on the Scrapbook Circle blog, and I spoke about scrapping those pictures that don't match.  I've held off scrapping these pictures because they really didn't "match"even though they are at the same event.  I decided to get over myself and scrap them--it's not about if they match it's remembering the event that happened!
Using the same idea when I made my fotoshoot layout I create this layout.  Using the punch from Jenni Bowlin (you can buy it HERE at Scrapbook Circle)  I just punched a whole bunch and then went to town adhering them to the page.
a few closeups:

I loved using the daydreamer kit (now sold out)--it's whimsical and fun.  the zig zag cut, title, and seal are all cuts from my cameo--LOVE that machine!  The hunt part of the title are the color magic stickers from Heidi Swapp--I used acrylic paint to cover and then wipe them off--pretty slick!
well, the weather has started to REALLY warm up here--I was SO enjoying spring.  oh, well--life goes on I guess.
I'm off for a movie date with my girl in front of the TV--thanks for the visit!

Bella!

8 comments:
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Laura Vegas who runs the Bella Blvd design team. She asked if one of my pages in their online newsletter....ummm yes!  You can see the full newsletter HERE.
I was pleasantly surprised that the layout chosen was this one:
if you remember I made it for a challenge for Bella Blvd.  Remember I have circle phobia?! :)   you can see the actually post HERE.
Love this boy in the picture, he is currently working on his famous American report--he decided to work on Steve Jobs, in the end he gets to dress up as him too.  I'm looking forward to that!
Enjoying this quieter week, LESS places to be but I'm filling it up with different things.  ALWAYS! :)  Thanks for the visit today!

laundry day....and some cards.

6 comments:
yes, it's Monday again.  At my house that means laundry day--I was feeling rather perky after my workout this morning.  I decided to clean out the pool, clean up dog poo, water my garden (I got 3 radishes out!--I'm always amazed when something grows from something SO small....)watered my grass, and other plants that are usually neglected, loaded the dishwasher, (ran the vacuum this morning...)and now I'm sitting here a little tired.  Hmmm....wonder what I'll make for dinner.  I really want to go read my book...  Am I the only one who has random thoughts like this?!
Okay, I do have something crafty to share with you!  I used the Daydreamer kit from Scrapbook Circle, well the scraps anyway to make some fun BRIGHT cards for birthdays:
yes, they are all basically the same design, that made them come together THAT much quicker!  I used my cameo to cut the heart center, border pieces, and the zig zag piece is the remains of something else I cut for a layout.
Life is going to be a "little" less hectic now that soccer games are over.  I'm glad for the break and schedule, the kids are too.  This week though they have AIMS testing, it's stressful for them.  BUT there is a BONUS they actually know and agree to go to bed on time.  Hopefully everyone will come home happy today....
well, I'm off to go fold some VERY exciting laundry!  Thanks for the visit and hoping your Monday is a good one!

sketch inspired....

8 comments:
I was SO excited to use a sketch from the talented Diana Fisher fellow design team member over at Scrapbook Circle.  Here sketch can be seen HERE with other takes.  This is mine:
Little misting with a mask from my stash & mist:
border strip from bottom of the paper and rubons:
cuts with my cameo:
do you notice the lack of journaling?  I pretty much ALWAYS journal--I can count on one hand how many layouts I have done without....For this layout I decided to do some hidden journaling, it is on the heart paper--fits perfectly into the kraft chevron bag that is layered underneath everything.  I haven't done that in a long time and it turned out really fun.
So here's the skinny, if you participate and use a Scrapbook Circle kit you could be featured on the blog!  How fun!!  I would really love to see what you create!
Thanks for stopping by!
*Thank you to all of you who are my loyal followers I really appreciate you hanging around!*

German Pancakes

4 comments:
because I'm hungry and I'm thinking about this, I wanted to share one of the breakfasts that I fixed for my kiddos this week:
doesn't look like much but this is SO yummy when topped with fruit and some agave nectar OR syrup.
Recipe:
6 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
5 Tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla

melt butter in 13" x 9" pan.  Beat eggs well, then add the rest of the ingredients pour in pan.  Cook at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

*I like to blend my ingredients in my blender so everything is smooth.  Occasionally I have to use my spatula to scrap the flour down.*

I've made German pancakes before, but this recipe is different because it has vanilla and it makes the difference--yummy!

Thanks for stopping in today!
credit goes to Stacey Gill for the recipe

seaGULL friends....

6 comments:
My one item wonder went live today on the Scrapbook Circle blog today....my focus was on the printable that is included in your kit with EVERY purchase.  Can you see where the printable might be?  The printables are wonderful, because they are bonus embellishments...

give up?  Maybe a few closeups will help:
if you guessed that they were included in the punched out shapes and the "friends" party of the title you would be CORRECT!  I wanted to do something different with them this time around and I really like this idea..
All of the items I used are from the Daydreamer kit, which is the kit for the month of April....
little back story on the seagull pictures.  I was actually pretty close to them.  They let me get pretty close and I just sat there and clicked my camera away....  I had only a couple of days with my new 50mm lens (LOVE it! BTW!!)  These seagulls were sitting outside the restaurant that we were eating in BEGGING or waiting for food to be "dropped", some LUNATIC was actually holding out fries to them-- I wouldn't want the bird to mistake my finger for a fry!  As you notice there is water in this pictures too... I happened to be in Washington state at the time.  These pictures are fun, the birds totally look like they are talking to each other...brings back fond memories of that meal it was FANTASTIC!
well, I'm off in a little bit to another track meet.  it's 95 degrees outside--good thing I had my girl start hydrating yesterday and early today!
Thanks for the visit!

March 18-March 24

3 comments:
Here we are at March 18-24, 2012.  Crazy how time flies!  Seems like my girl and I waited FOREVER for Hunger games to come out, then the day came!  She LOVED the shirt that I made her--way to go CAMEO! :)  So fun that my mom and aunt, uncle, and friend Jennie could come too!
this was also the big week of the pinewood derby, oh the stress.  Actually there was no stress because I have NOTHING to do with it.  This year I provided stickers, it's the creative time between daddy & boys.  Besides they don't like my "helpful"comments anyway... :)

I am proud to say I "just" finished this weeks journaling of Project Life.  I really had to try and stay focused and OFF the Internet.  But I did it!  And it was fun--I had a bunch of GREAT pictures to work with and I used a different layout for my page protector, I promise to share that in the near future.

This week marks the last soccer games for this season, while I'm not as TIRED as I was last season.  I'm still ready for a break...We have 3 more weeks of track, then we will be out of a "season".  Ready for summer!  yes, we have a soccer camp and a Hershey track meet.  THAT is ALWAYS fun!

As per my schedule I have some exciting laundry to fold and dinner make.  Thanks for the visit today!

my favorite cards--Happy Birthday

4 comments:
you know when things just click creatively?  It makes you just happy to look at your creation?  That's what happened here with these cards?:

a couple of closeups:
I used some studio calico paper, stitching, basic grey brads, and of course my cameo!  I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this flower that is on the top.  I couldn't decide to top it with white or color--guess what?  i liked BOTH options!  Again the sentiment was typed and printed out on my computer and cut down to size--this particular font is mr & mrs. popsicle--it was free--sorry though, i don't remember where I got it from....
sorry this is a mad dash but i'm trying to finish up my PL for last week--THANKS for the visit!

teacher birthday gift..

4 comments:

a couple of weeks ago, I made this fun little tags from the remnants from my thank you cards, i posted a few days ago...I loved that I had everything on my table ready to go because I truthfully didn't have much time to put these together!
i printed the sentiment from my computer and cut it down to size, the tags I actually cut from my cricut, the circle cover at the top I made using a small circle and then punching through with my cropadile.  LOVE how that turned out.  Even though I only had about 30 minutes to finish this, I'm pleased with the results--I made 8...
The large brads in the center are some of my FAVORITES--they are American craft & Bazzill...
I'm off thanks SO much for the visit today!!

Egg Decorating...

8 comments:
I LOVED that I could FINALLY scrap this picture from last year!  I was wondering which papers to use because of the colors of the kids shirts, I didn't want to make the picture black and white because I LOVE all the color!  Then came the Daydreamer kit from Scrapbook Circle and everything just clicked (I also had the opportunity to lift Angie.  Click HERE to see her page on the blog.)

A few closeups:
I cut the word egg & the egg with my cameo--one of my first times to cut a word title....
Little maya road flag action, my kids really had a blast decorating eggs-seems no matter how old they get they love it.
A misted cut from my cricut!
This layout has acrylic paint on the green border & mist--it was fun to get a little artsy and messy.  (my son came in to the office this morning and noticed a piece of plastic I had used to paint on, he was a little horrified that I hadn't cleaned it up!  It made me laugh, I'm just going to throw the packaging away--just didn't want it all over EVERY thing else!)
Off on the run, this week is REALLY busy with 2 soccer games, 2 track meets, 2 scouts, 1 mutual (youth group), 1 Easter egg party, 2 soccer practices....tonight is a crock pot meal!  I making chili with the beans I made last week--smells YUMMY!  LOVE that crock pot, dinner will be hot and ready for us when we come in.
Thanks for the visit today!
