Project Life

3 comments:
well, I did it!  I ordered a Project Life kit!  Thanks to enabling from many places and the help from Laura Vegas!
what is Project life?  It's what I like to call visual journaling--taking pictures that describe your every day, what is happening to you now.  The kit comes with journaling cards, dividers and all sorts of good stuff! I've been thinking about it for a while and after asking Laura about a million questions I took the plunge!
Project Life information can be found HERE (Becky Higgins has a video exploring the contents), they even have a community.  Check out Laura's blog HERE she posted how she does hers.  On Becky Higgins blog HERE she gives suggestions on even more ways to do it, one lady even made a video.  I am a visual person so to see this years all together just made sense to me.

I "borrowed" this from Laura's web page:

I chose the turquoise edition.....
I would love to know if you are doing project life, I'm a little nervous but at the same time excited.  Laura put it simply it's only 7 pictures a week--Heck!  I can do that?!  So who wants to join me? :)
Thanks for stopping in!!  and HAPPY new year to you!

Yesterday evening inspiration hit and I was able to finish TWO layouts!  Here is one (I followed the sketch above sketch #96 at the Scrappiest):
I had so much fun with this paper and embellishments.  I even got to use my new i*rock tool--I LOVE it!!  Thank you Santa! :)
These pictures aren't the best but the memory was SO fun!  The kids were SO excited for their dad to open his presents!  This was almost 3 years ago but the memory is still that fresh! :)

Been meaning to share this with you!

This is how I'm doing are Christmas cards this year!  I'm SO excited, usually they stay in their envelopes and we don't get to look at them again.  Inspiration hit when I saw someone that had bought some wonderful thing at Ikea to permanently hang things from.  I liked the idea but I didn't want to make it permanent.  So I bought command strips, string and clothes pins--they can all be found at Walmart and I can reuse them!
These cute people right ^ here got married today!  This is one of the cutest invitations EVER!  Congrats to them!  Off to work on Christmas cards and cookies!  Thanks for dropping in!

My December Daily

5 comments:
Yes, I am doing one.  I didn't get it done before December started so it's coming together when I can get it done.  I've been journaling and taking pictures and I decided to go very simple.  Another thing that is different about last years album I'm doing a 6" x 8" just like Ms. Ali Edwards--REALLY like this size.  My pages are less artistic making more room for journaling and pictures, I learned last year that although some of my pages were pretty they were hard to use for what I want them for.  So far so good!  My printer cartridge was acting up and wouldn't realign, so DH suggested I clean it.  VOILA!  works again!  Okay, so here we go from the beginning--**WARNING photo heavy!**
Thanks for stopping in!  off for family movie night--we're watching elf! :)

Sweet Ornament--DT call Scrapbook Circle

4 comments:
This is my last layout I made with the December kit at Scrapbook Circle.  I LOVED this kit!  I also was able to use my cricut expression on all but one of my layouts.  On this layout the ornaments right above the title were actually cut from my cricut--they are actually petals, the center was cut in half for the red border just below the title.  I was inspired by a few layouts on this one and am happy with the result.  This picture sort of cracks me up, I edited my picture with iphoto blurry the edges, I really like the dreamlike quality.  (I think this is how my son thinks when he sees candy... LOL!)
I wanted to mention that Scrapbook Circle is having it's design team call!  It's a GREAT place to design for!  Click HERE for all the details!
Off to another busy one today, I really appreciate you taking the time to stop in and visit!

candy cane--TREE

3 comments:
I have sort of funny story about this layout, I've taken like 15 pictures of this thing and can't get it to crop correctly. (the page is curled up from the mist, and I don't have the patience to fix it!)  So this is what we get! :)  I used scraps, rubons, and embellishments from the Winter Wonderland kit at Scrapbook Circle.  I added some stickles to make my tree sparkle.  My son thought it was a birthday cake! LOL!!  Funny kid!
Life; of course is crazy I'm playing catch up.  Today was pretty productive and I'm feeling good about it.  Love when I have one of those days!
I sure hope that your holiday season is going well and that you are TRULY enjoying the season.  Thanks for taking the time to pop in!

Nativity 1975

2 comments:
I have to tell you this page came together quickly!  The idea sort of simmered in my mind for a few days but once I got a hold of the supplies it just came together.  Again, I used the Winter Wonderland from Scrapbook Circle.  What's fun about this page is that the red scalloped border & the polka dot border were actually lily bee shaped squares I cut to make these borders.

I love the look on my face in this pictures.  It's one of my favorites of all time, I remember feeling like Mary and that my raggedy doll really was the baby Jesus.  My brother's faces are so cute too as they seriously consider the scene.

Thanks for stopping by!  Oh, and for those of you that like FREE fonts you gotta go check at the Creating Keepsakes blog.  They have 3 today!  Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Track Star....

4 comments:
So I wanted to make a non Christmas layout with the Winter Wonderland kit from Scrapbook Circle.  These colors were PERFECT for the shirts that the kids got for running the Hershey track meet.  The stars were cut with my cricut, I even used some chunky glitter--LOVE that stuff!
I don't know about you but this week is B-U-S-Y!!  We were just at a band concert tonight.  I have a concert tomorrow and Sunday, family pictures Friday, party and reception Saturday.  So this is sort of a drive by post.  I did want to share something sort of exciting.  Yesterday I did this:
Yep!  I donated two 11" sections of my hair to locks of love.  that's enough for two wigs.... (I even mailed it!)  I really do like my new do!  I think I almost passed out when she started to cut my hair, but I said, "don't mind me CUT away!"  She did a BEAUTIFUL job and really listen to what I wanted.  I think she was concerned that it was such a drastic change that I wouldn't like it.  I had mentally prepared myself and was ready for something different.  This is only the 3rd time I have ever cut my hair short.  the receptionist at the salon did a double take when I went to leave, so did a lot of people I know, it's actually pretty funny....
Well, that's it for today.  I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to stop by!

O Christmas Tree

3 comments:
I made this tree as a hostess gift for mom because she hosted Thanksgiving at her house.  I bought the cone paper mache at Michaels.  I used some of the Winter Wonderland kit from Scrapbook Circle for the ornaments, and snowflake topper.  I also used my Cricut to cut the scalloped circles, snowflake topper, and ornaments. the ornaments are actually petals, I used the silhouette and center.
I embossed the cut scallops, added some chunky glitter to the snowflakes, and tulle, small wooden bobbins, and tulle for the trim.  It was an all day project do to little distractions here and there, but I REALLY like how it turned out.
I'm off to enjoy some together time before my WILD children go to bed.  This is going to be a long week, and tonight they need to get their sleep!  Thanks for stopping in!

Merry Christmas 1975

6 comments:
would ya look at cute little 2 year old me?  My grandma was cleaning out some things and she gave me two framed pictures that my mom had given her in 1976!  I was just waiting for the perfect paper and inspiration to hit.  And it did!!  I used the Winter Wonderland kit from Scrapbook Circle, the papers are SO yummy!  I also used my Cricut Expression to cut the snowflakes (they were on the Christmas cartridge)  Also from my stash is the glitter glue, pearls, number stickers, jewels and ruffle ribbon.
I've been busy working on my brags books for my Grandmas, one is almost all the way completed!  I just need to sew on the pages! :)
Gotta run, need to quiz a boy on his spelling words!  Thanks for stopping in!

Some hybrid tags--my teacher's gifts this year

2 comments:
**WARNING--Photo heavy!**
The details: I used the Echo Park Everybody Loves Christmas line for the paper, the ribbons are from my stash, the eyelets I "think" are Making Memories (but it's been so long I don't know!), distress ink is Ranger, the tags, and scalloped squares were cut with my cricut, the embossing folders are provo craft.  The center greeting can be found HERE at Write. click. Scrapbook, they have a bunch of WONDERFUL--FREE printable downloads look in their side bar under Categories.

The envelope is just a piece of kraft paper cut 4" x 12" and folded in half then sewn.  (The ribbon hangers are sewn on before you sew the whole thing together.)  What's fun about this, is that once the tags are used up you still have a decoration you can hang up!  These were really fun to make.  My youngest son even helped me punch the corners of the greeting, he wants to help me next time I use my COOL tool! :)
I'm off to work on some Christmas presents! :)  Thanks for stopping in!
