Thank you

4 comments:
Okay, I know I mentioned I would post this last week!  Well....the week obviously got away from me!  This little book I made for my friend who lent my kids her extra Halloween costumes (so sweet!!  took the think out of it for me!  And the kids are happy too!)  Anyway, I went with the Halloween theme and made her this simple little book to put her pictures in for this year or for years to come.
I took a close up so that you could see the crackle affect, I LOVE how it turned out!  I used it on this crow and on the witch's hat.

Supplies:
pattern paper: Teresa Collins
Jewels: Michaels & Hobby Lobby & Imaginisce
buttons: unknown
border: Bazzill
ribbon: Michaels
bind-it-all to put it together!
Thanks for lookiing!  I intend to make a card to go along with it with the scraps.

Another couple of Yummy recipes!

No comments:
Okay, so do you ever get tired of making the same things over and over again?!  And for new recipes do you ever not want to try something because it has ingredients that are strange or you will never use except for this one recipe?  ME TOO!!  I went to an Enrichment night (Ladies gather from my church once in a while to share ideas) and they spoke about gardening, fall decorating, and recipes.  My good friend Joyce shared these:
Varsity Chowder
2 cups water 1/2 cup carrots
1/4 cup chopped onion 2 cups diced potatoes (about 3 small potatoes)
1/2 cup chopped celery(1 stalk)  1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Cover and simmer above until tender. DON'T DRAIN!

Make a rue with:
1/4 cup margarine or butter 1/4 cup flour
Add to it 2cups milk & 2 Cups shredded cheddar cheese
Once your rue is nice and thick and cheese is melted add to vegetables stir and serve.
**Optional add 8 crispy bacon pieces crumbled.**
This was so easy, I think it took me all of 30 minutes to have it ready.  My sons non-soup eaters LOVED it and asked for it again.  I will definitely double the recipe next time!  With my soup I served:

Flat Bread
2 cups warm water 4 Cups flour
1 Tbsp. granulated sugar 2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. yeast
Mix together (I have a Kitchen aid mixer).  Let it raise once (about double, mine was about 45 minutes).  The dough will be STICKY so soften 1/2 cup butter (I used less) and spread dough out on a GREASED cookie sheet.  Sprinkle butter, herbs (your choice) I used garlic, rosemary, thyme, parmesean cheese.  (you can use basil sesame seeds).  Place in preheated 350 degree oven bake for 20 minutes.

Enjoy!

Happiest place on earth!

1 comment:
Yep, we went there!  So much fun too!  But boy after three days of walking (as my mom would say) our dogs were barkin!
I just have to say that I took this picture myself with my little fuji camera.  I learned something that I shared as the tip of the day at Scrapbook Circle.  (click on the purple to get full details) but I was so excited it turned out so well!
It sure was nice to get away and just enjoy the family together, running from ride to ride, becoming a human train (something I highly suggest if you want to get through congested pedestrian traffic!).  You put a parent in front and then single file you have the kids and other parent follow.  (they are to make sure that everyone stays in line, hurries up and generally doesn't get lost!)  The human train moves where the leader moves and you get to places much faster.  I promise this works!  To bad we didn't figure it out until the second day.  I am sure I will have plenty of pages to share in the next little while.
I did work on a fun project that I hope to be able to post tomorrow.  I also have been working on things for the Boo Bash (online crop) at Scrapbook Circle this weekend.  The challenges will be posted on Friday with all weekend to work on them.  (deadline is 4pm MST Sunday)  If you want to play come jump on in!  There will be awesome prizes and fun raks.
Basically it's a mad house like always, and I am the clown driving the bus! :)  Hope you are enjoying your week!

My layout for the tip of the day

Super fun stuff with the October kit at Scrapbook Circle!  Thanks for looking! Happy Monday!

What a week!

My goodness this week was long and short!  Does anyone have weeks like that?  I made a few discoveries this week, as I was cleaning that corner in the kitchen that never gets cleaned because my special basket that holds the stuff that I will look at later sits.  Yeah, it's been several months since I even sorted the basket, SCAREY is one word, another...why was I wanted to look at that later?....RECYCLE.  The basket is empty and put another place for decoration and not to collect stuff!
I did find Christmas letters from friends, so fun to look at and read a few.  Do you keep yours?
I do!  I have a seperate album that houses my Christmas celebrations and mornings, and Cards from my friends.  I made a pocket usually 6" x 12" staple the side for reinforcement, and then date the outside.  I then slide my cards and pictures inside, yeah it's bulky but it's all in one place!  I love it and it helps me feel organized.
I am absolutely LOVING the weather here today!  I think the high was like 75 degrees with a breeze.  Perfect for opening all the windows and having a family party (which we did, and my little camera took a break.  Sometimes you just have to enjoy the moment and not worry about the camera.)
So what did you learn this week?

So yesterday....

1 comment:
we were going to my mom's for a fun shindig (funny word huh?) and I was waiting for everyone to get ready because of course I had been ready all day. (I kept piling stuff at the door so I would remember it!) And in the 20 minutes I made this really fun layout of DS:
It also happens to fit in with my challenge for the month of October at Scrapbookcircle and the tip for the day, today (I post Mondays) I know I am such a multi-tasker! :)  But what I want to tell you that everything on the page came from Scrapbook Circle's October kit!  I absolutely LOVE this kit, I know I will use it ALL!  Happy Monday!!  And if your creating today, enjoy it!

Do you ever have those days?

5 comments:
Where you are moving so fast you wonder where the day went?  Today would be one of those days, it's DS birthday and I didn't remember I needed to make a birthday cake  until I was at the bank (my 3rd stop for the day) and after speaking with the teller?!  Don't worry it's done now I just need to go and make frosting, but I don't have any sprinkles.  I do however have some VERY old bob the builder sugar heads, no one eats those things anyway....It's all about the candles and ice cream anyway when you are 6.

I also remembered today that the new Scrap Street e-zine is out and I have a card featured on page 27 toward the bottom.  I especially love my comment, short sweet to the point....I didn't realize I was to elaborate when I sent my card, I sounded nerdy!  Ah, well live and learn....

Well, I just wanted to pop in and say the week according to me pictures are probably way more exciting than my notes, but it sure is fun trying to figure out how to take pictures of myself.  I think on Sunday I will post my favorites for each day....Good luck if you are on the journey with me!
