A week in the life of....ME

2 comments:
So I don't normally follow Ali Edwards blog, but my friend Jen Davis over at Scrapbook Circle posted this idea in the forum and I thought it would be an interesting experiment to try.  I actually started Sunday (I guess I was a little excited :)).  I told my good buddy Jennie about my endeavor and she happened to be getting out of her car at the same time at the gym and started laughing because I was taking a picture of the outside of the gym.  Then after our cycling class she took a picture of me all sweaty, (yeah the lady right next to me just looked at me like I was crazy....)
DH said, "that sure sounds like a lot of work" Yep!  Isn't that life though?!  If you feel like you want to give it a try, dive in!  Ali is getting pointers and ideas all week....should be fun!

Soccer!!

1 comment:
So life right now in our house revolves around soccer....Today it was 101, yeah yuck!!  But the kiddos did so well....Last week they had the firemen come because people suffered from heat exhaustion, this week they were there again but didn't see anyone down...maybe it was just a precaution.  I did get some most fabulous shots of my fabulous soccer kids.  It's really interesting to see their growth:
DD stopping a quick ball and jumping over it, (was really cool to see)
DS making a sweet save as goalie, this year is his first year playing full field.
DS doing a kickin, they are so fun to watch because everyone just chases the balls all over the fields.
Yes, you will most likely see these pictures on upcoming soccer pages, I love to have some action shots on my layouts to help remember a great season!

Life is CRAZY busy!!

1 comment:
Okay, so life is CRAZY right now.  The kiddos have started back to soccer, that means M-TH practices, & Saturday games.  Add to that loveliness piano lessons, cub scouts, activity days every other week, and helping in the classroom.  Plus a washer going out and having to buy another add some birthday parties and you have this week.
Oh, I forgot to mention I went bra shopping yesterday.  Talk about a good time, NOT!!!  Yeah, I know!  Why is it SO difficult?!  I picked up 10 and the first one worked the others....forget it!  That was PURE luck, I tell you!
Funny story, after I had my last baby I went bra shopping all by myself.  You ladies that have nurse know that you are never the same EVER again.  Anyway, I went by myself.  I kept picking bras out left and right, nothing was working.  Well, DH calls me on my cell while I am in the dressing room at which point I am on the verge of tears!  (I'm sure the other ladies could hear me in there!)  He asks me, when are you coming home?!!  I told him the situation amongst tears and luckily he understood, and let me off the phone.  3 hours later I found something that worked, and I bought 2!!
***disclaimer: this was to explain the lack of creative goodies, and I got a little side tracked.....do you ever do that?***

Baptism gift

2 comments:
This is another gift I finished today.  I used my trusty Zutter Bind-it-all, and Fiskar Whale of a Punch.  I got this idea from a little book my daughter got as a gift when she was baptized.  I borrowed it, and this is what I came up with:
**For the tabs I punched out flowers out of my pattern papers and thin chipboard.  I glued my front piece of pattern paper to a piece of chipboard, and repeated for the back.  I then glued my front flower to the journal page, and the back flower to the back of the paper.  I then glued a jewel to the middle.**

I decided to make a card to match out of the scraps, this really was a fun project that I wouldn't mind doing again!

Birthday gift

1 comment:
This project is a birthday present for my sister-n-law, (no she doesn't look at the blog....if she does, well HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mindy!)  Her birthday is Friday, I was excited how quickly this all went together.  I bought this frame on Clearance at Target a while back, and these papers were out for another project, and my SIL LOVES orange, so I thought how perfect!

Simple steps to do a frame:
1. painted the edges
2. Trace the size of the paper on the opposite side of the pattern paper and cut.
3. For the center part (where the picture goes) I traced and cut with my X-ACTO again.
4.  Adhere pattern paper to frame, I then used an X-ACTO knife to trim the edges closer.
5. After the glue is dried a little, I embellished the pattern paper with stickles, and flowers with jewels.
Easy Peasy!

I also made a matching card, and this was all from one sheet of 12x12 paper!  (the flowers were cut from a seperate scrap, but could've been cut from the same paper.)

Supplies:
Frame: Prima
Paper: WeR Memory keepers
jewels: Hobby Lobby
glitter glue: stickles, ranger

So I finished baby album #3!!  Woohoo, only one more to go (for right now....)  I bought this kit off of QVC a while  back, and it was a screaming deal then.  Now they have it for $12.50!  Anyway, I really enjoyed  how this album turned out.  (the first image is the card that matches.)

108-pound woman thwarts would-be purse snatcher

No comments:
Okay, so I must admit I am not much of a newspaper reader but when my hubby showed me this article it made me laugh:

A suspected would-be thief was arrested Monday after a woman whose purse he tried to steal chased him and held him down, Police said.

Taylor Kahus-Saccio, 22, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of theft at about 1:40 p.m. Monday at the Fry's Food store.

Police said Kahus-Saccio took a woman's purse from her shopping cart and ran off with it.

The woman then chased Kahus-Saccio and continued to do so after he dropped the purse on the ground, police said.

The 27-year-old woman, who was not identified but was described as 5-foot-1 and weighing 108 pounds, caught up to Kahus-Saccio, grabbed his back and held onto him until store management arrived to help.

Kahus-Saccio was arrested and sent to jail.

He had no prior criminal record, police said.

Doesn't this guy know, you never mess with a woman and her purse!  NEVER!!!
